Climate Action Executive Mandarin

Climate Action Executive Mandarin

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Mandarin speaking, Climate Action Executive, to join our Customer Success team.

Manufacture 2030 (M2030) works to decarbonise supply chains, primarily through our software service, the M2030 Platform. We engage with both buyers (eg Toyota and Tesco) and suppliers (such as Toyota’s engine manufacturers or Tesco’s dairy farms). The Climate Action Team (CAT) is the supplier-facing side of our Customer Team, and this role puts you at the heart of CAT.

As a Customer Impact specialist within CAT, you will be particularly involved in the later stage of suppliers’ engagement with Manufacture 2030, including helping them to decarbonise at scale, monitoring and analysing data, managing customer and partner relationships, and overseeing licence renewals.

You’ll develop a thorough understanding of our products, hone your customer-facing skills, and have the opportunity to work on and specialise in a variety of other projects as our team continues to evolve. Other projects can include transforming the way our team operates internally, helping the team to gain sustainability knowledge, and streamlining the support we provide to suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Understand suppliers’ challenges and pain points and pass these on to the Product team (and Customer team colleagues) to assist product, comms, and service development.
  • Explain our product clearly while effectively communicating the company vision and value proposition: reducing carbon emissions in global manufacturing. This includes drafting and delivering compelling and easy-to-understand product demonstrations and training sessions to supplier clients, as well as guides, online videos, and emails.
  • Be ready to pitch in and deal with large volumes of supplier calls and emails from time to time.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders in M2030 on team- and company-wide projects, including transformation projects, and be ready to develop a specialisation in the process.
  • Support and lead projects to encourage supply chain carbon reduction, including webinars, articles, newsletters, and partnerships.

Skills and Experience

  • Passionate belief in our mission: to accelerate the transition to sustainable manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication skills, with impeccable written and spoken English, and a positive, confident phone manner.
  • Must have relevant work experience, ideally minimum two years.
  • Good technical skills in Microsoft Office and an intuitive grasp of how to use software platforms. This is important for understanding our company’s product and the systems we use to manage customer relationships.
  • Customer service experience is essential, ideally including email and phone outreach.
  • A demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing your time well.
  • Adaptability dealing with multiple changing priorities.
  • A natural attention to detail, organisation, and diligence in the way you work.
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese to support our Chinese supplier customer base.

Beneficial extra skills and experience

  • Ability to speak/read multiple languages.
  • Experience with organising & delivering online and in-person events.
  • Content writing or marketing experience.
  • Proficiency with VBA, SQL, or similar to streamline processes.
  • Domain knowledge of Industrial Sustainability, Carbon Management, and/or Climate Change.
  • Analytical skills to help identify opportunities hidden within our customers’ data.

You are

  • An energetic person with a strong customer focus.
  • Passionate about supporting M2030’s mission and helping manufacturers to reduce their costs and global climate impacts.
  • A self-starter, comfortable to manage your workload with limited oversight.
  • An excellent communicator, ready to learn fast about our customers’ priorities and the world they inhabit, and prepared to challenge customer thinking.
  • A team player - you will have a supportive and friendly team behind you all the way.
  • Comfortable to adapt and grow with the role. As we grow and scale as a business, your responsibilities are likely to evolve.
  • Looking for a mission-driven company with an inclusive and welcoming working culture.

If this sounds like you, it is likely you will be successful in this role.

Practical requirements

  • You can work remotely but have the option to work from our offices in London or Oxford whenever you like.
  • Requirement to attend a team day once per month. Team days alternate between Oxford and London – you must be able to attend either city.
  • You must be UK-based and have the right to work in the UK.

Summary and Benefits

  • Reporting to Customer Impact Manager.
  • Salary varies from £24,000-£30,000 dependent on experience, and the title Senior Climate Action Executive will also be considered for skilled candidates.
  • Length of service award of annual leave - one additional day for every two years worked up to a maximum of 30 days a year.
  • Option to purchase 5 days additional leave per annum up to a maximum of 30 days total leave in any year.
  • Option to carry over up to 5 unused annual leave days or receive the equivalent in pay
  • Training – staff may spend up to £150 a year on relevant internet courses that further their work-related skills
  • Tea, coffee, weekly fruit and snacks in the office
  • Company socials (a mix of remote and in-person)
  • Company sick pay from day one of employment – full pay for 2 weeks sickness absence in a rolling 12 month period
