Introducing the M2030 PCF Module

Introducing the M2030 PCF Module

Introducing our new PCF Module — a supplier-centric, facility-level solution to unlock reliable carbon footprint data, drive collaboration, and support suppliers on the path to lower-carbon products.

As businesses ramp up efforts to report and reduce supply chain emissions many still face a critical challenge: accessing reliable, product-level carbon data from suppliers.

Today, most businesses rely on top-down estimates, industry averages, or proxy data to fill the gaps in their Scope 3 reporting. These approaches are quick fixes, but they’re not reliable enough to inform procurement decisions or guide supplier collaboration on decarbonization.

At Manufacture 2030 (M2030), we believe that real progress starts with engaging suppliers and accessing primary data. That’s why we’ve launched the PCF Module, a new solution that makes it easier for suppliers to build and share Product Carbon Footprints (PCFs), no matter their capabilities.

Building a PCF solution fit for all

Product Carbon Footprints are increasingly requested by customers looking to understand and reduce emissions at the product level. But most suppliers are still early in the journey.

According to our most recent platform survey, 74% of suppliers have not yet started building PCFs. Why? Because the process is often complex, costly, and dependent on sustainability experts or external consultants.

Our new PCF Module addresses these barriers directly - enabling suppliers of all sizes and maturity levels to build reliable PCFs and share them with their customers.

The PCF Module

The PCF Module is a simple and structured way to help suppliers take ownership and build PCFs for their products. The module includes the following features:

  • PCF Academy: A structured learning hub with videos, checklists, cheat sheets, and quizzes, designed to help suppliers quickly build knowledge and confidence in PCF creation.
  • PCF Builder: A guided, step-by-step workflow that simplifies building a PCF. It includes automatic calculations, based on the PACT Methodology, and a built-in database of emissions factors.
  • PCF Connector: A way for buyers to request PCFs and for suppliers to share them improving collaboration and reducing manual work.
  • PCF Importer: For suppliers with PCFs already created, this tool allows them to upload their data into the platform for sharing with their customer.

Suppliers using the module also gain access to a curated library of decarbonization actions for facilities and products, enabling them to move from measurement to emissions reductions.

Beyond reporting to drive decarbonization

M2030’s focus is on supplier engagement and unlocking data for decarbonization, not just reporting. The PCF Module is built to support real emissions reductions, helping procurement teams:

  • Improve Scope 3 Category 1 data quality
  • Engage targeted suppliers with PCF campaigns
  • Make informed decisions on sustainable sourcing and production
  • Collaborate with suppliers to decarbonize supplied products

Early customer adoption

Following a successful pilot, consumer health company Haleon is now rolling out the PCF Module to over 200 suppliers as part of its Sustainable Supply Chain Program.

“Haleon has chosen M2030’s PCF Module to equip around 200 of our key suppliers with the tools to build and share PCFs. This is a critical step in obtaining granular emissions data and collaborating with our suppliers to drive reductions.” Chris Low, Head of Procurement Sustainability and Packaging, Haleon

What suppliers are saying

For suppliers new to PCFs, the module provides an approachable, structured way to get started, without needing external consultants or technical expertise.

“Calculating our first product carbon footprints could have been daunting, but M2030’s guidance made it straightforward. The clear training materials gave us the confidence to get started, and the intuitive PCF Module made the calculations easy.” Aya Sandouk, Head of Sustainability, HANA-PET

Reducing the effort for suppliers

“Reliable, trusted data is key to unlocking decarbonization. says Toby Newman, CEO of Manufacture 2030. Our PCF Module reduces the effort for suppliers to build their own PCFs and provides reliable data to inform procurement decisions and help more businesses move from measurement to action.”

The future of lower-carbon products

Today’s launch marks a major step forward for M2030 and our customers. By unlocking primary product-level data, businesses can make informed decisions, drive targeted supplier engagement, and move towards a low-carbon future.

The PCF Module is now live.
